I ordered this unit on the hopes of it being a decent version - you never know what your getting.
It arrived well packaged and everything bagged up neatly. Upon removing everything from the package I had to give the extruded rails a wash in the sink as they were full of swarf and cutting fluid - minor issue but I didn't want to get it all.over the kitchen table!
Upon laying out all the parts there are no printed instructions included, you simply stick the cd into the laptop and view them on their - my second criticism is that the instructions should have been a pdf file rather than a Word document.
I will comment on the fact that the instructions are very clear and concise.. basically consist of pictures showing step by step assembly.
I bought this CNC Engraver/Router for my wife who is into crafts, so wasn't sure what to expect...but it is brilliant! Engravings that were produced as 'test' pieces just to try the CNC Machine out, and I have to say that the results were great - nice sharp cuttings/engravings cut into 9mm plywood. I found the engraver quite easy to put together (it arrives in kit form), with the supplied printed instructions easy to follow. The materials and parts used in this CNC engraver are of very good quality, and everything screwed/bolted together with minimum fuss....just allow yourself a couple of hours and a clear work space and it should all go together quite easily.
Mine came with an A5 booklet showing how to assemble and setup the software, a mini CD containing the manuals and software. They have a link to google drive in the description if the cd missing
keep a clean cloth and compressed air can or compressor handy to clean the frame parts before assembly.
Had no issues with assembly, apart from one of the threaded brass bushes having a burr which stopped the threaded rods from passing through it. This was easily removed with a tapered reamer.
I had been wanting to buy a CNC machine for some time and after looking at many options I decided on this one and I can't be happier. Mounting is very easy following the instructions included, even if you are a bit clumsy you can find step-by-step installation videos online that will make this task even easier .
We bought this cutter to mill small parts from acrylic glass. I'm impressed with the value for money, the part works great as long as you take the time to learn CNC a little bit and fiddle around.
Here are some tips:
- For control I use cncJS, and of course you should learn the basic commands, especially e.g. G28.
- The included milling heads are OK for “scratching”, for milling acrylic grass have proven itself with me about 3mm milling heads, which are “similar to a drill”. Thin
- I built myself a “water cooling” by operating the machine in a small “draining tank” (IKEA plastic box) and using an aquarium pump and hose to guide water around the milling head. Otherwise, acrylic glass will melt quickly, or the water will transport the chips.
