This is a good value but you have to keep your expectations in check. This will not work and you will only get frustrated if you attempt to use this with a regular drill or a cordless drill or even a plug in hammer drill. None of those drills can provide the power needed. The only drill that worked and worked well is a 1/2 hole hawg electricians drill which most people won’t have at their disposal. With the right drill this thing splits oak with ease. Another note: I had to weld the chuck end to the bit otherwise it will constantly come apart.

Great for attaching to our cordless drill. Can take to camp to use to make kindling for starting a campfire rather than purchasing the kindling beforehand.

I was pretty skeptical of this at first. My dad told me about it so I grabbed one, at $15 it wasn't a huge gamble. But after splitting a few logs with it I was pretty impressed, it works pretty damn good. The logs I got delivered were just a bit too big to burn well in my fireplace, so I take a load in and split them with the drill and life is so much easier. It even works really well to make kindling.
